Artistes Bio: Setsuo Miyashita, Subrata De & Arindam Chakraborty

Setsuo Miyashita

Setsuo Miyashita is a Santoor player and a music therapist. He was on Born 27 Feb 1955 in Kagoshima Japan. Setsuo Miyashita is a disciple of the world renowned Santoor Maestro Padma Vibhushan Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma.

He has been studying Santoor of Indian Classical Music from his Guru Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma for 24 years since 1992.

He established Indian Classical Music and Dance Center SaraSoju in Gifu, 1996 for introducing and popularizing Indian Classical Music, Dance, Culture and Spiritualism in Japan.

Before Santoor player, he has been a guitarist for many years since at his age 15. He has performed many Santoor concerts at Holy Shrines and Temples in Japan also at Halls, Cafe, Yoga studio etc.

He has organized Santoor Concerts Tour of Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma with Rahul Sharma in JAPAN 2001 & 2010 (Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto , Kobe, Shizuoka)

He  Has performed Santoor concerts at Drupad Mela 2005 and 2006 and Late Kaviraji Ashtosh Bhatacharia Memorial Concert in Varanasi INDIA 2005. He also has Baiju Babra Music Festival Award for contribution to Indian Classical Music in Varanasi, 2008

He had Santoor concerts at International Yoga Festival 2018 Rishikesh India.

Subrata De

Subrata De is the most promising name in Sitar today. A sitarist from Bishnupur Gharana, Mr. De has not only earned his reputation as a performer but as a cultural ambassador of India, propagating Indian culture in its purest form all over the world.

He also works for cultural exchanges between India and foreign countries through concerts, lecture demonstrations and facilitating exchange programmes.

He is also looked up to by young artists for getting suitable opportunities and mentoring to showcase their talents at appropriate stages.

Arindam Chakraborty

Arindam has been associated and performed with several legends & renowned musicians all over the World with his great dexterity and expertise.

He has performed with many Great Maestros like Ustad Aashish Khan, Padmabhushan Dr. N. Rajam, Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Maestro Shivamani, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Vidushi Jaya Biswas, Pandit Kamal Mullick, Ustad Shafique Khan, Pandit Harashankar Bhattacharya, Vidushi Sanjukta Ghosh to name a few.

Arindam has also been touring and performing with several renowned Musicians & Maestros like Violin Brothers (Deb Shankar Roy & Jyoti Shankar Roy), Pt. Rakesh Chaurasia, Pt. Partho Sarodi, Prof. Pt.
