Shiatsu Session With Peter White

Shiatsu brings change and healing by releasing stuck energy and restoring natural flow. There is a saying in Chinese: “where there is no movement, there is a pain, where there is movement, there is no pain”. By encouraging movement within the body, mind and emotions, the whole being comes back to a natural state of dynamic balance.

Shiatsu is a development of Traditional Chinese Medicine, bringing in aspects of modern psychology and physiology. In a session, you remain fully clothed. Beyond the technicalities of stretches, meridians and acupuncture points, the practitioner establishes a deep empathetic connection. With instinctive reflection, your body and mind will communicate and receive what is needed to attain balance and ease.

Shiatsu is particularly effective for stress-related issues (insomnia, anxiety, headaches), back pain, the impact of deep-seated emotional trauma, supporting life changes or just that elusive feeling that something is not quite right.

The body-mind is given keys to remember how to care for itself, release stagnation and imbalance, and return to a natural state of harmony. After the session, the process of realignment will often continue, the immediate feeling of well-being deepening over the coming days.

Facilitator Bio: Peter White

Peter White graduated from the Three-Year Diploma in Shiatsu course at the UK’s Northern School of Shiatsu in 2007. This was the beginning of a wonderful journey of refinement and growth. Like with driving, the real learning of shiatsu begins after you qualify – instinct grows, empathy flowers, life blossoms.

In 2015 his shiatsu practice moved from the UK to India, where he also leads healing retreats into the mountains and forests. Peter’s shiatsu is supported by Chi Gung – which develops healing chi – and meditation, which helps keep the self out of the way.
