Shiatsu Sessions with Peter White
Rooted in ancient Chinese medicine, with aspects of modern physiology and psychology, shiatsu is a holistic healing art based on communicative touch. In the subtle exchange between giver and receiver, the entire being is reminded of its natural balance and harmony. Blockages are released, harmonious energy flow is restored.
In a shiatsu session you remain fully clothed. After talking through your needs, the practice uses stretches, rotations and gentle contact with acupuncture points. With instinctive reflection, your body and mind will communicate and receive the support needed to attain balance and ease.
As well as specific issues you wish to address, Shiatsu is good at accessing problems hidden from the analytical mind. The body always knows and, after the session, the process of realignment will often continue, the immediate feeling of well-being deepening over the coming days.
It is particularly effective for headaches, back pain, complications from deep-seated emotional trauma, stress-related issues – such as anxiety and insomnia – or just that elusive feeling that something is not quite right. The body-mind is given keys to remember how to care for itself, release imbalance, and return to a natural state of harmony.
