ZORBA BAITHAK SERIES – An Evening of Hindustani Light Classical Music 

The ‘Zorba Baithak’ is a mehfil for soulful exchange between artiste and audience. In this warm & intimate gathering, you are able to share eye contact, smiles and appreciation with the performers. It is a special connection which cannot be experienced in the mightiest of auditoriums.

Here, all Rasiks can find the space to move and sway along with the music.

You are all invited to an evening of Hindustani Light Classical Music, popular ghazals and film songs. We are delighted to present a Hindustani Vocal Recital by Smt Kakoli Mukherjee. She will be accompanied by Ustad Akhtar Husain on tabla and Shri Sekhar Ganesh on Harmonium.

Facilitator Bio: Smt Kakoli Mukherjee

Smt Kakoli Mukherjee is a student of Bhatkhande Music College. She is trained in Hindustani shashtriya sangeet from Pundit Motilal Bhatt who was an A, I, R sarangee player. Kakoli resides in Sydney and has her own music school where she trains overseas Indians.

To satisfy her own creative instinct she composes ghazals and bhajans and has released few albums. Along with music she values education and has a master degree in English and is currently a school teacher in Sydney.

Kakoli is endowed with a voice which has an astounding depth in terms of musical expression and emotional appeal. She has a rare ability to express the essential beauty of the music in any form whether it be shashtriya sangeet or bhajan or ghazals or film songs. Kakoli has been performing for the last 20 years in NZland, Australia, India and Dubai.
